Hy-Conn is more than a product—it’s a mission. Founded by Jeff Stroope, a career machinist and volunteer firefighter, Hy-Conn was created to solve a problem most people never think about until it’s too late: connecting fire hoses to hydrants quickly enough to save lives.
In 1999, Jeff was responding to fires in rural Arkansas where hydrants were scarce and water had to be shuttled in using tankers. Precious minutes were lost setting up water supply lines. Standard hydrant connections were slow, tools were cumbersome, and the process simply wasn’t keeping pace with the urgency of fire response. Jeff knew the water couldn’t flow faster—and trucks couldn’t drive faster—so he focused on what could be improved: the connection itself.
Armed with a deep background in CNC machining and mechanical design, Jeff developed a concept that changed everything. In 2004, the first Hy-Conn prototype came to life. By 2012, the invention had caught the attention of national television and made its debut on Shark Tank. But when manufacturing overseas was suggested, Jeff chose to walk away from the deal in order to stay true to his values: Hy-Conn would always be made in America.
Engineered, Machined, and Assembled in Arkansas
Today, every Hy-Conn product is manufactured 100% in-house at our Arkansas facility. With advanced CNC equipment, robotic automation, and a team of precision machinists and engineers, we deliver fast-turn production with full quality control—no outsourcing, no shortcuts.
We operate three CNC machines around the clock, including robotic loading to extend production into off-hours. Our team consists of expert operators and programmers who work closely with engineering to ensure each quick-connect fitting meets exacting tolerances and real-world demands.
Whether we’re fulfilling a custom thread request for a municipality in Texas or mass-producing fittings for a Canadian fire supplier, Hy-Conn’s process is built around consistency, durability, and trust.

Every Hy-Conn unit comes with a 3-year limited warranty (excluding the main gasket, which is replaceable). Customers who register their product receive dedicated support and priority service. And when you call us, you talk to us—not a call center.
